New Glykon owner here. I cannot ship my unit with the blade to your Repair dept. If I loose a spring can I remove the blade and send it without the blade - and install it when the chassis is returned? Of course I'll cover all FedEx courier fees. Thanks!

The price of the zero blade play feature was based on exclusivity. In a way MT was lucky that Hawk developed the market, now they can mass produce their own variant at half the cost and people will flock to it thinking its a "bargain". I think part of the reason Hawk has upped their prices is one last hurrah before the market drives the price down. Honestly I value max blade length to handle ratio more than a little bit of play. I also wish someone would do a quality OTF with a simple straight tang traditional spear point blade. The Hawk single edge was close but still a little "stabby" with a fragile tip.

Really trying to understand what is the benifit of that "grabby" teeth up top, when you could get a useful partially serrated blade instead? Thoughts? Is it just cool factor?

Price is the major drawback. However the drawback belongs to me, not the product.

You need to put “MADE IN CHINA” on the outside of the box. I impulse bought an Anax at my gun range two days ago and I’m fucking pissed I spent $450 on a Chinese knife. I never thought I would have to worry about checking where a Microtech was made.

1980 and before are mostly copper 1981 and after are mostly zinc and then the mint the penny came from may make a difference as well

Microtech serrations are the best I have ever used. the last 2 microtech's i have bought, have been fully serrated.

Guys I love the brand and I love my Microtechs (I have a Scarab 2 proof run) so please don't take this as being a hater, but your serrations rip more than slice because the pattern you use is horrible. I've done extensive research and testing on serrations and what makes them perform well and the pattern they're ground in makes all the difference in the world, and the only other company that makes them worse than Microtech is Cold Steel. You have two size scallops in your pattern and the small size is far too small, and what ends up happening when you cut things is the points snag more than the scallops cut. I have serrated knives that can slice as cleanly as a straight razor. Another issue is that your blade grinds are thick AF, and then the serrations have to be ground in at an even steeper angle so the scallops themselves are door stops. These are the kinds of issues that make guys hate serrations but it doesn't have to be this way if you grind them with the right pattern and at a steeper angle.

God I'm hopeful this is as nice as it looks. My old Cypher had to go in for maintnence 3 times, and still failed to fire. Ended up selling it for a combat troodon

My brand new gen 3 has had endless failures to deploy and retract out of the box. I’ve never carried it because of the 0% reliability. I also have a new outbreak makora that is sub par. Especially compared to my dlc shadow makora which is like a MP5. That was disappointing being it’s such a cool design. The button was very rough and had no clean break, the sound was muffled, there wasn’t much of a snap. I did do the otf treatment on that outbreak makora but it showed no progress then it failed so I put it back in the box and that’s where it’s been ever since. Lastly my dlc scarab 2 gen 2 has been perfect but has recently developed a rattle in the handle, with everything else combined it concerns me so I put that knife away as well. I currently carry the cypher gen 3 and that has been flawless.

How difficult would it be to make the edge much sharper?

whats about a low budget UT S/E-SpEd version ?..........i need no holes and grooves in the S/E blade ;) but a frag pattern ;)
